I’m a Ukrainian artist. My Collider project, working with science, history and peace-building practice, is about the understanding of our space-time, researching the relation between past, present and future transformation of society. The interplay between micro- and macrosystems, between physical and social worlds explores a variety of contemporary and historical phenomena.
I’m focusing on the urban environments in order to uncover their structure as a social space under the paradigmatic changes of the global world. I connect science, history with the economic, social and political problems in order to come closer to the understanding of spatial relations, historical perspectives and interactions between human being.
My personal account of doing Collider project grounded on my experience of Orange Revolution of 2004-2005 in Ukraine. At that time I was pregnant and my son Slavko was born in 2004, when the Orange Revolution has begun. So, he has been grown simultaneously with all our hopes and disappointments. Now the ideals of freedom, democracy and Human Rights have been cynically regarded as adjuncts of oligarchical power.
My collaboration with International Peace Center in Sarajevo since 2010 pushes me to go further with art that testifies today’s social reality and its traumas, certifies and records some corporeal feeling of contemporaneity for sake of the future.
Project is an invitation to co-experience the complexity of the world, dealing with violent conflicts, social upheaval and war events, that took place in different urban landscapes, which had influenced subsequent historical development, in order to turn our society toward humanity.
